Brandon Williams says he has ‘great bond’ with Derek Wolfe – Ravens Wire

The Baltimore Ravens brought in defensive lineman Derek Wolfe during the 2020 offseason on a one-year deal. He ended up being a great piece for Baltimore’s defense, providing a steady veteran presence on the inside.

He performed so well for the Ravens last year that the team decided to re-sign Wolfe to a three-year deal during 2021 free agency, extending his stay in Baltimore. Wolfe will continue to wreak havoc on the Ravens’ defensive line alongside fellow teammates Calais Campbell, Brandon Williams and more.

When Williams was asked about Wolfe, the veteran had nothing but glowing things to say, revealing that the two have a “great bond”.

“Man, he’s a baller. Like I’ve always said, he’s … Shoot, he’s balling more than most of us. That dude, he’s always out there, [and] he’s always grinding. When his name is called, he’s always going to show up. I love the guy. He’s literally staying at my house right now. (laughter) So, we have a great bond. We want to continue to bring the whole unit [together] like that and make it one huge cohesive unit.”

Baltimore’s defensive line is an elite run-stuffing group that can also generate a bit of interior pressure on opposing quarterbacks. It’s thanks to players like Wolfe and Williams that the unit is so dominant, and with both expected to play key parts on the team in 2021, it should be another great year up front on defense for the Ravens.
